Our goal this year at Bryan Elementary School is to show our students that they CAN do anything they put their mind to, with effort and hard work. It is important that our children understand that with the support of the staff, and their families at home, they CAN show academic, social and personal growth. So, I encourage you to join the Bryan staff in changing the mindset of our children and eliminating the negative idea that they can’t do things. The “I Can…” philosophy is a positive move toward student success in school and in life with the belief that anything is possible!
Students, staff and families will be asked to commit to the “I Can…” philosophy through the signing of a contract during the first month of school. This written commitment is only as strong as the actions that support it each day during the school year and beyond. Please join us in helping all children understand what they CAN do and what they CAN be in their life.
Effective School Wide Discipline (ESD)
This year at Bryan Elementary School we are determined to reward our students who demonstrate the positive behavior we expect in our school. ESD is a system that clearly defines the expectations for behavior throughout the school building and encourages students to show their understanding with their behavior each day. Students demonstrating this positive behavior will be rewarded through class prizes, celebrations and rewards.
Academics are our main focus at Bryan, but learning will not take place unless students are actively engaged in the learning process. ESD helps set the tone for positive behavior in and out of the classroom. I encourage you to speak with your child about the ESD activities, rewards and events that will be happening during the school year. Also, please support our ESD expectations with your child at home and reward your child for good behavior with positive comments each day.
